Chapter1: A Paavam guy stranded

Scene 1:

It was a humid afternoon on a Saturday. Wiping off the sweat dripping from his forehead with his soiled white cuff, he began typing the last line of the code. Even the air-conditioner didn’t want to work on a Saturday. Poor Sid wanted to hop on the Mumbai local as fast as he could. He didn’t want to smell the “fresh” body odor of the people for a whole hour. Sid banged on the enter key with a sigh of relief. Sid could finally go home early. The computer breathed its last for the day and in a few minutes the whole office was creepily empty.

As he walked home dripping in sweat, he bought a pav-bhaji dripping with oil. Satisfying the devil inside the tongue, he walked back home to finally lay peacefully. Switching the lights on in his fortress of solitude, he was ready to gulp in some alcohol and get lost in the everlasting routine of his life.

Scene 2:

There were huge explosive noises in the sky. The whole atmosphere was restless. Rain drops falling helter-skelter and the lightning waging a war with everything on its way. With the gods in the sky fighting between themselves, Sid had learned the art of forgetting all of the worlds problems. His intoxicated mind was too tired to figure out the whereabouts happening around him. Among st all this confusion his cellphone decided to join in and have some fun. Vibrating and singing along the rains, his phone was trying to notify Sid that somebody important wanted to communicate with him. The phone was finally picked up and answered:

“Hello?”

“Hey Sid where are you?”

“Home, sipping in some alcohol”

“Come over lets party, we have something new today”

Sid couldn’t refuse, no he was too deep in the trap to say no.

“What is it that you have?”

“You’ll see”

The caller grinned happily and disconnected.

Sid dressed himself inactively. Groaning in discomfort he put on his shoes, pulled out the umbrella and set out for the night.
